Thank you for sharing this! I think it’s so important for students to realize the difference between math anxiety and being bad at math. Often times students interpret their anxiety as incompetence which isn’t necessarily the case. Self-esteem is crucial in child development, so we need to do everything we can to make sure that kids feel sure of themselves and their abilities.
I agree Gia that you should ease the person into the idea of therapy. Another thing you could try is having the person talk to people who have been to therapy and have gotten better. Maybe hearing personal accounts of people who got better might open your friend up to therapy.
I’m grateful for AllyU as well because it connects people with the resources they need to get better.
I’m looking forward to having dinner with my boyfriend and his parents.
I’ve seen so many ads for diamond art, so I looked into it, but they all were pretty expensive. Do you know of a place to get those kits at a reasonable price?
I have heard about that website, but I’ve never used it before. I will definitely keep that in mind when planning my next vacation post-pandemic. Thank you!!
I always make an effort to recycle whenever and whatever I can.
What a beautiful poem Jayashree!
I might try thrift stores or vintage shops. They’re a good way to find unique items like photos or stamps that could be useful. I have not tried to find cardmaking supplies at either of these places, but there might be some hidden gems. I would try thrift shops first since those tend to be less expensive than vintage stores.
I have enjoyed crafting (sewing, knitting, painting) and watching all the movies and shows on my watchlist. I had a bunch on there that I postponed watching since I was preoccupied with school, so it was nice to finally watch them.
I have a workout app called Workouts For Women that allows you to work out from home and track your progress. You can put in your goals, and then it will give you workouts ranging from beginner to expert and various time commitments. You can also set a time that the app will remind you to work out, so you don’t forget. It’s really easy to fit in workouts because some of them are only 7 minutes. The workouts are easy to follow and are actually kind of fun!
I’m so proud that you went to the gym! It’s a small thing, but it’s the first step on a long journey to a healthier lifestyle! I wish you luck in accomplishing whatever your goal might be!!
One thing that I saw was someone put different dollar amounts on different envelopes and each week they would put that dollar amount in the envelope (it could be $1, $5, $10, $20, etc). This helps to save money because it breaks up saving into smaller parts that are more manageable and can adjust to your needs. If you’re having a tight week with cash, you can fill the $1 envelope, and on the flip side, if you’re doing well, then you can fill the $20. Hope this helps!
One place that I love is Cape Cod in Massachusetts. My grandparents have a house there, and I love going every summer. There are lots of ice cream places and beaches to enjoy. It does get busy during the summer though.
I agree with Saleana; it is important to first identify the problems facing one’s community and how you impact that problem. A next good step to take would be to look into different organizations that address that problem. They most likely will have somewhere to donate or volunteer in which you can actively take part in helping those in need.
