What are some positive coping mechanisms you use to help get out of your depression ?

I’m so sorry that you are having to deal with that pressure. That’s entirely unfair in my opinion. My situation is a little different… my parents aren’t seeing anyone. However, my boyfriends parents are having small celebrations. Unfortunately, I’m still a little uncomfortable and anxious with it all because some cousins and neighbors are attending. It will still be relatively small but still puts me in a stressful environment.

I can somewhat relate because I find myself in this situation now. My current partner is a man, but I have solely dated women for 11 years. I consider myself more pansexual with a high preference to women. Regardless of labels, it’s all about experience. So you may feel you are not “embracing your sexuality” due to lack of experience with whichever gender. However, this is not the case! Some partners are comfortable with you continuing to explore with or without them…. if you have such a trusting relationship it might do you good to open up to him and tell him how you are feeling!
          just my suggestion 🙂

I tend to focus the anxious energy into different situations. For example, the gym or yoga are great and productive ways to focus the energy elsewhere!

I completely understand the struggle because I have dealt with this my whole life. Social anxiety can be crippling. For me, I enjoy my Apple Watch it has a “breathing” app. This helps you focus your energy on breathing techniques that calm you down when you need it. Or, when you feel anxious maybe try going out with “safe people” in your life that will help calm that anxious energy down that you are feeling.

Depression is a hard subject for me and for plenty of others. Some days I feel fine, other days I’m sad for no reason, and some days I know why I’m sad. Does anyone else go through this array of emotions too?
