The Southeastern Michigan Doula Project (SMDP) is a non-profit agency providing volunteer doula services to low-income women and teens in the community. SMDP's doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational support to pregnant women before, during, and after birth. SMDP also engages in community outreach and public awareness advocacy work to help women understand the positive effects of having support during birth.
