The mission of the Sound Mind Sound Body (SMSB) charity is to improve the number of high school students in under-served communities that are on track to graduate high school and eligible for college admission. SMSB accomplishes this mission by using athletics as a vehicle to teach youth to exert equal amounts of energy to academics, life skills and character. SMSB Sports Academy offers a variety of camps that combine sports with education and life skills lessons, including lessons on substance abuse awareness, sexual health education, and more.

South Carolina Legal Services (SCLS) provides free legal assistance in a wide variety of civil (non-criminal) legal matters to eligible low income residents of South Carolina. SCLS is a non-profit corporation, funded by grants from the federally funded Legal Services Corporation, the South Carolina Bar Foundation, local United Ways, state court filing fees, and other federal, state and local funding.Applications for legal assistance should be made through our statewide Intake Office. SMDP's doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational support to pregnant women before, during, and after birth. SMDP also engages in community outreach and public awareness advocacy work to help women understand the positive effects of having support during birth.
