Hep C Program Community Medical Services is excited to announce the expansion of our hepatitis C (HCV) services. CMS has developed partnerships with specialty providers to assist with caring for clients seeking HCV screening and treatment. In our pilot in Arizona, we screened 237 CMS clients. Of those screened, 42 tests detected HCV and 14 clients successfully completed the treatment regimen! This is a collaborative effort involving multiple departments and positions including medical providers, counselors, peer support specialists, nurses, and front desk staff. HCV testing and treatment will be incorporated into treatment plans so clinicians can stay engaged and regularly discuss the topic with our clients. CMS anticipates we will be providing HCV screening to all clients by the end of Summer 2021.
