Haven of Rest Ministries (The Haven) is a non-profit faith-based organization that works to meet the needs of those who are homeless, disabled, incarcerated, and more. The Haven's extensive programs include separate men and women/children's shelters for emergency food and shelter, a 12-step addiction recovery program for homeless men, an adult foster care program with permanent residency, a program for children that provides recreational and school-related services, a jail ministry for incarcerated inmates, a women's addiction program, and veterans services.

Home Instead Senior Care has been serving Union & Stanly Counties since February 2005. Jim & Trenna Lonon, along with their son Chris, opened the doors in Monroe and are still located downtown to this day (except in a slightly bigger office!). They saw the need to help seniors in our community from Monroe to Albemarle and all points in-between to live independently at home and have worked hard to provide quality care that folks can depend on.
