Community Social Services of Wayne County (CSSWC) currently provides a broad range of human services for everyone from infants to senior citizens. These services are available regardless of age, religious preference, gender, race, disability or economic status. Professionally trained staff, from a variety of human service disciplines, provide comprehensive and confidential services to individuals and families in need. CSSWC's programs cover child welfare services, behavioral health and community services, education and literacy programs, and senior/volunteer services.

The OutCenter of Southwest Michigan's mission is to provide support and advocacy for respect, understanding, and nondiscrimination to LGBT+ people and their families in Southwest Michigan. The OutCenter's primary programs include the Teen Pride Genders & Sexualities Alliance, which is a student club for LGBTQ+ and allies that hosts activites to help students learn about themselves; the LGBTQ+ Safe Schools Collaborative that provides workshops and assistance to school staff, youth, and families to improve school safety; the Advocacy & Education program which engages in outreach and advocacy; the Drop-In Center which provides a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ and allies along with a computer lab and educational library; and counseling services, support groups, and victim services for LGBTQ+ and HIV-positive individuals.
