The purpose of The Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable Trust (TGOAHHCT) is to serve the underprivileged, domestic violence victims, underserved, children of child abuse, economically disadvantaged, poverty-stricken and low-income families and individuals in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan and other Wayne counties with support, assistance and resources. Some of TGOAHHCT's programs include backpack/school supply and toy drives for kids, food drives to distribute food to people in need, transitional housing for veterans and domestic violence survivors with supportive services, care packages for veterans, and more.

SIREN/Eaton Shelter is a community resource dedicated to providing advocacy and support services to the homeless population and domestic violence survivors. SIREN/Eaton Shelter offers both emergency shelter (short-term housing of 15 to 90 days) and transitional housing, meant for families working to resolve homelessness but needing more than 90 days to rebuild their lives. The agency rents about two dozen single-family units and has two larger, multi-family spaces.
