The mission of the Bay Area Women's Center (BAWC) is to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault. BAWC provides free-of-charge crisis intervention, advocacy and safe haven to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as violence prevention education to the community. BAWC provides a toll-free crisis line, an emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, children and teen programs for those impacted by domestic and sexual violence, a sexual assault program that works with survivors of sexual violence and provides medical services, affordable and transitional housing programs, legal advocacy, and more.

The Associated Charities of Lenawee County provides clothing, food, furniture, and other gently-used items free of charge to families through various programs, including a daily distribution program, seasonal programs, and a back to school program to give children school outfits and supplies.
ALKC's programs provide new and appropriate school clothing, health kits, new books, backpacks, school supplies and other necessities for children and students in need, teach safety skills to elementary age students, supply teddy bears to comfort children in crisis, provide clothing to women and men who are victims of sexual assault, support seniors in area nursing homes and provide clothing for individuals who are entering or re-entering the job market.
