To help families achieve self-sufficiency, customers are empowered through one-on-one coaching and strategic collaborations to remove barriers to economic mobility. To provide advocacy for people in financial crisis, community education and engagement opportunities help people understand the complexities and challenges of poverty.

The Detroit Justice Center (DJC) is a non-profit law firm working alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities. In addition to outreach and advocacy, DJC offers the services of community legal workers who can perform legal research and investigation into the tax assessment appeal process and water shut off process, conduct client interviews, help community members complete forms, accompany clients to hearings and department meetings, and educate the community about their rights.
