The House of Peace is a program within Capuchin Community Services. Its mission is inspired by the gospel of Jesus and the example of Francis of Assisi, the Capuchin friars of the Province of Saint Joseph, together with its partners in ministry, prayerfully build sister-brotherhood in the world. The community attends simply and directly to the spiritual and other basic human needs, especially those of the poor and disenfranchised, promoting justice for all.

Legal Aid and Defender Association (LAD) provides comprehensive civil legal services to residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties who cannot afford an attorney. Founded in 1909, LAD is proud to be the oldest provider of free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Michigan. LAD has a full-time staff of attorneys, paralegals and legal support staff, providing legal services in the areas of housing, public benefit assistance, criminal record expungement, and domestic violence/sexual assault/stalking.
