The Detroit Justice Center (DJC) is a non-profit law firm working alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities. In addition to outreach and advocacy, DJC offers the services of community legal workers who can perform legal research and investigation into the tax assessment appeal process and water shut off process, conduct client interviews, help community members complete forms, accompany clients to hearings and department meetings, and educate the community about their rights.

At CCC our Mission is to “serve the homeless and those at risk of homelessness by providing safe housing, and assisting them in developing a long term plan that leads to self-sufficiency.” Located at 207 Manhattan Avenue in Greenville, North Carolina, we are a night only emergency shelter and we accept homeless individuals who are NOT sex offenders, as space permits. You must have a state-issued photo ID and proof of homelessness (eviction notice, letter from an agency, etc.). The shelter opens at 6pm and closes at 8am week days and 9am weekends. The office is open Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Fridays 8am – 4pm. Other housing programs referenced above are available through an application and screening process.

The Community Action Partnership of Lake County (CAPOLC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency serving residents of Lake County, Illinois, for more than 50 years. It helps low-income families reach self-sufficiency through emergency assistance for families in crisis needing immediate aid, case management, prevention services, and scholarships. It also helps families by providing access to preschools, veteran housing, and other opportunities.
