Avalon Housing works to build safe, healthy, and inclusive supportive housing communities to combat homelessness in Washtenaw County. Avalon's supportive housing combines affordable housing with support services to help people achieve housing stability and lead healthier, productive lives. Supportive housing is geared toward people who have been chronically homeless and have behavioral and physical health challenges, including mental illness and substance use disorders. Residents have access to many individualized services including case management, advocacy, primary medical care, and after school/summer programs for youth.

Baldwin House provides apartments especially designed for seniors 55 years and older. Baldwin House allows active seniors to pursue more independent living, with care services including engaging activites, daily meals, housekeeping, transportation, and an on-site health care provider. The Band of Locals is a community minded program banding together to support locally owned Mecosta, Osceola and Montcalm County businesses through discounts represented through purchasable Blue Bands at $10 per band. With these blue wrist bands, consumers will receive unlimited savings and discounts as there is no expiration date. Bands can be purchased at The Old Pioneer Store and Mecosta County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Discounts cover a wide variety of services and businesses, including but not limited to accounting, attorney, automotive, banking, chiropractic, clothing, healthcare/dentistry/eye care, insurance, nutrition classes, travel services and many, many more.
