Our programs provide the strength and opportunities families need to overcome a variety of challenges – ranging from homelessness to domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse, extreme poverty, trauma, and other factors which stand in the way of success. Our goal is to foster a society where every child and family we serve will have the opportunity to succeed and thrive. We address the effects of social inequity in the most challenged communities in New York City.

The mission of the Sound Mind Sound Body (SMSB) charity is to improve the number of high school students in under-served communities that are on track to graduate high school and eligible for college admission. SMSB accomplishes this mission by using athletics as a vehicle to teach youth to exert equal amounts of energy to academics, life skills and character. SMSB Sports Academy offers a variety of camps that combine sports with education and life skills lessons, including lessons on substance abuse awareness, sexual health education, and more.
