Since 1932, Variety - the Children's Charity Detroit has been simply helping kids - no matter the need - by providing vital support and essential services to more than 20,000 children with unique and special needs in the community. Variety's core programs include providing fresh fruit, vegetables, and weekend meals to elementary school children and their families, giving new bicycles/locks/helmets and adaptive cycles to children in need, hosting therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children with physical and/or cognitive challenges, and providing state-of-the-art prosthetic hands to children with upper limb differences.

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is an organization serving the needs of Vietnam veterans and advocating for the issues important to this generation of veterans. VVA provides claims assistance, financial readiness education, and outreach programs covering a broad range of topics from Agent Orange exposure, homelessness in the veteran community, accounting for POWs/MIAs, to addressing the needs of ethnic minority veterans. The Veterans Support Center of VVA #154 provides a fullly-integrated facility that offers services such as an emergency food pantry, honor guard services, a Veteran's Treatment Court that assigns a mentor to veterans caught in the court systems, and more.

WIC, or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, is a nutrition program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture. Qualified individuals will recieve individualized nutrition counseling and group nutrition classes, breastfeeding promotion and support, referrals for health care and other services and vouchers for healthy food.
