WIC, or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, is a nutrition program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture. Qualified individuals will recieve individualized nutrition counseling and group nutrition classes, breastfeeding promotion and support, referrals for health care and other services and vouchers for healthy food.

Since 1932, Variety - the Children's Charity Detroit has been simply helping kids - no matter the need - by providing vital support and essential services to more than 20,000 children with unique and special needs in the community. Variety's core programs include providing fresh fruit, vegetables, and weekend meals to elementary school children and their families, giving new bicycles/locks/helmets and adaptive cycles to children in need, hosting therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children with physical and/or cognitive challenges, and providing state-of-the-art prosthetic hands to children with upper limb differences.
