Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RTMC), provides free critical home repairs, energy efficiency upgrades, and accessibility modifications for Montgomery County’s most vulnerable residents – seniors, veterans, persons with disabilities, and families with children, all living in low-income households.
The Region VII Area Agency on Aging (R7AAA) is one of 600 such organizations in America that advocates, plans, develops, and supports an array of services for older adults. The R7AAA offers several programs for seniors, including in-home care services that help seniors remain independent in their homes and communities, care management, financial and legal aid, and Medicare/Medicaid assistance.
Focus: HOPE is a nonprofit, civil and human rights organization in Detroit, Michigan that is dedicated to recognizing the dignity and beauty of every person by working toward intelligent and practical action to help overcome racism, poverty, and injustice. Focus: HOPE's areas of interest include early childhood education, job training and career programs, food/financial assistance/health services for low-income seniors to help meet their basic needs, and advocacy/equity/empowerment in the local community.
Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency (SMCAA) is dedicated to empowering diverse people in need and supporting their journey towards economic security. SMCAA's programs include, but are not limited to monthly Commodity Surplus Food Program for seniors, Quarterly Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and food pantries for Families and individuals; Utility Assistance, Rental Assistance, Rental Education, Housing Rehab programs, Weatherization, Homeless Shelter, Homebuyer Education and additional programs that are designed to provide for the health, education and self-sufficiency of the population.
