Here is an interesting medical insider that can surprisingly help clinicians track the efficacy of autism therapy.

Typically, in individuals that do not have ASD, the interval between each heartbeat will vary. Some intervals may be slightly longer or shorter before the next heart beat comes. This occurs when resting and when active. However, it is found that adults with autism have a resting heartbeat that does not show much variance between the intervals. The frequency among the heartbeat is rather constant. Even more importantly, the trend of the similar frequency of heartbeats are not present in children with ASD, but just adults.

This can give us a medical insider on the autonomic nervous system in those with ASD. This finding has a silver lining to it. Heartbeat intervals are easy to measure now and days with the technology that has surfaced. Clinicians can measure heartbeat behavior among adults with ASD in order to look at the efficacy of autism therapy. This is an indicator that can help the medical field better understand how the body is manipulated and succeeding in regard to ASD effectors.
