Here is a little rundown of contributing factors… which one of these did you know about? Do you know of anyone that has experienced these coorelating factors? We are learning more and more about ASD on AllyU 🙂

It is important to know that none of these CAUSE ASD. These are just coorelational factors. There is no one cause of autism. These are all associations found by researchers.

        1. There is an association between ASD and the mothers exposure to ozone pollution specifically during the mothers third trimester.

        2. Children born to older parents (this one is fairly common knowledge).

        3. Being born to a sibling that already has ASD.

        4. Environmental factors like viral infections and air pollutants (this coorelates with #1). Although, autism is highly genetic.

        5. Preterm baby deliveries.

        6. Boys are more likely to have ASD than girls. Why do you think this is?

        7. Family history of ASD.

        8. Medications used by the mother during pregnancy such as SSRI’s, which act on the brains serotonin levels.

Here is one of my main sources. Check this out. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/autism-spectrum-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20352928
